What a frustrating weekend. I have some photos uploaded in my gallery. I was trying to link them on my page using a WordPress/Gallery plugin. When I first installed it on Saturday, it worked. But then I decided to make a few “cosmetic” changes to the look of my site, and I deleted some lines of code I should not have. Needless to say… I did not have my files backed up!! When I finally went to bed Saturday night/Sunday morning, the site looked like crap.
Sunday, I basically started from scratch and reinstalled my site. But, after I got it back pretty much to normal… I could not get the WPG2 plugin to work. I spent most of Sunday working on it, to no avail. Today, Labor Day, I just didn’t have the desire to spend another frustrating day tweaking the site. So, I spent a good portion of my time just browsing the web, and spent a lot of time at Rick Steves’ site.
Our trip to Paris is now less than 4 months away. I am getting excited. Just to let everyone know… we did get Irene’s passport renewal back. We sent it on July 2, and got the new passport on August 31. That is just a day shor of 10 weeks. The estimates we had been hearing were 12 weeks, so they have improved the turnaround time… slightly. Oh, and Irene got one of the new RFID passports. I’m not sure how I feel about that. The technology websites have been pretty skeptical about the safety of those. Well, I renewed last year, and have the old fashion kind. And, mine doesn’t expire until 2016.
