I Know, I have been absent for quite a while. Well, I have plenty of excuses. The main reason is that I am working now. The Community Action Agency of Southern New Mexico has hired me to coordinate their tax preparation program for low-income residents. It is basically the same job I have been doing for AARP for the past 4 years, but now I am getting paid to do it. I’m not getting rich mind you, it is just a temporary part-time job, but it is fun, and I don’t mind putting in the hours now that there is a little compensation.
For the past month, I have been selecting, purchasing and setting up new computer hardware for the program. We bought all new desktops, laptops and printers.Just like the old days. Oh, and in case you are interested, we ordered Windows XP for our operating system. Of course the way they sell it these days, we also got Windows Vista-Business on CD’s. I might try loading Vista on one of the laptops just to see how it goes.
I’ve also had some software problems with my blogging software. I’ll detail that later in another post. In the meantime, tha’s a recent picture of Lucy at top. She has changed dramatically since we brought her home. She is still a little nervous, but not that scared little dog we first saw.
